Sometimes it’s good to take a day or two & get away. When a dear friend & sorority sister of mine mentioned she had rented a cabin in Big Bear, CA & that there was still room in the rental to come stay for a night, without hesitation I told her we (my husband & I,) were in! My resolution this year was to get outside more & it’s been a bit of a struggle so far, so I figured this was a great opportunity.
We headed out in the early afternoon, made it up the mountain & to the cabin by 2 pm. Some fun facts: This was the 1st time my car had been in the snow, the 1st time we had to use chains on our tires & the 1st time I had to shovel a driveway. It took us a little over an hour to even get the car up that driveway due to the steep incline. Let’s just say it was an interesting experience. The cabin itself was really cool, 3 stories & had an awesome view of the slopes. We settled in, took a few pictures & the husband just had to fly the drone. By this point we were both starving & went in search of food.
Our friends were skiing nearby & they met us afterwards for a drink. To be honest, I love the idea of skiing but I’ve never been very good at sports & while I think it looks really fun & glamorous that lift “business” is a deal breaker for me.
Give me a sled any day!

- Australia Luxe Collective ‘Short Pistol Studded’ Genuine Shearling Boot. They also have this black color combo, a grey & rose gold option (that I also have & love to pieces!) as well as this blue version. (All currently on major SALE.) I love these even more than my Uggs. Just be mindful of the spikes because they are a bit sharp.

- Baublebar ‘Crystal Mason Ring.’ I wear this ring with everything!
- Quay Australia ‘My Girl’ 50mm Cat Eye Sunglasses. Obsessed with the blue reflection these give.
