Family time, turkey & warm pie always makes for a great day!
This year, because we celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with my family while in Toronto, is the 1st time (in a long time,) that my husband and I won’t have to (hustle between meals) in order to split the day with both of our families. For anyone who is married or in a long term relationship I’m sure you know how exciting this is for us! It will probably make us a little less stuffed too which will be nice.
Style Tip: Layer Up
Since winter is coming, (shout out to all my “Game of Thrones” peeps!) I love to find ways to incorporate faux fur into my style. I like to look cozy yet pulled together for the holiday season. My husband’s family likes to take a group photo for their Christmas card at Thanksgiving. Therefore, I like to wear something that will photograph nicely & furry layers are awesome for this.
I found this grey sweater vest at Forever 21 in store. When I tried it on I was surprised at how soft the fabric was and I loved that it had a removable collar. Get rid of the fur and it instantly makes the vest more casual. I demonstrated both versions in the 2 images above. While I couldn’t find this specific vest online, I know it is still available in stores so keep an eye out.
I did find a similar vest online at Belk. It also has a detachable collar and is on sale.
If you are willing to splurge, Splendid has a beautiful option here.
For those who want to skip the fur, this Halogen sweater vest is super classy, 50% off and comes in 2 colors.
Brand I Love:
The Jetset Diaries is a new brand find for me that I have totally fallen for. Their clothing is all over the internet & social media. When I saw their Verona top online, I was immediately drawn in by the bell sleeve. I enjoy clothing that flows and has a hint of a vintage/retro style.
I found the Verona dress option online & it is gorgeous too!
I paired my grey Nudist sandals by Stuart Weitzman with this look but this outfit works with so many different shoe options from over the knee boots to booties or wedges. I’d even try ballet flats.
If you peeked inside my closet, you would see a plethora of skinny jeans. I wear them all the time. I especially love distressed & high-wasted versions. High-wasted styles are so flattering on a woman’s figure. They slim and frame the silhouette beautifully. Overall, Topshop carries my favorite high-wasted styles.

Style Tip: Add a Statement Piece
Incorporating a statement piece of jewelry is a great way to amp up your look. I love Stella & Dot necklaces for adding a bit of interest. They have some really amazing options on their site right now here.
Sale Alert! Stella & Dot is having a large sale right now for Black Friday!
Check the sale out here.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Wishing You Peace, Love & Happiness,
