Fall Style in Toronto

Ahhhhhh Fall, my favorite time of year. I swear everything is just better in the fall! Foggy days, seasonal decor, cozy fires with warm drinks, pumpkin flavored everything, leaves changing, Halloween costumes, Thanksgiving pies and I definitely can’t leave out fall fashion!!!! This year I was lucky enough to spend a large portion of the season traveling to Toronto & New York City to spend time with my family and friends. The east coast definitely is gorgeous during this time of year! Since fall is all about transition, one day it can be warm & the next cold, stylish pieces that are transitional too are really handy. Seeing that my clothing options were limited while on the go, this became essential for me.

I’ll start with my new 2 in 1 vest from Love Token. It has a draped suede collar that you can detach by unzipping, leaving you with a chic little faux leather vest option. It looks great both ways. I wore this piece a ton in Toronto and NYC! First off, you can never go wrong with black anything. Secondly, because it’s not a jacket, you don’t feel as constricted but still feel warm & cozy. The best part it’s on sale right now at Nordstrom.com for 33 % off!

I love a good thermal and I swear Free People makes some of the best ones. I picked this olive one up on sale a few months back & was so obsessed, I ended up buying it in 5 more colors! I like that it’s flowy rather than skin tight like most thermals you find and I’ve always been a huge fan of the color olive. I think it looks good on everyone’s skintone and to me it just screams autumn. Both Nordstrom and The Rack carry a lot of Free People options but FP’s official website has many special pieces that you won’t find anywhere else.

Here are a few thermals that I am lusting after on their site:

The Mercury Tee, The Lovers Rib Thermal and The Kate Thermal.

Just before I left up north, I found this felt hat at Kohl’s on a last minute shopping whim.  This braided fedora style also comes in camel & I am really tempted to pick it up because it is on sale right now for 40% off plus you can use your Kohls discounts on top of it! Felt is a great fabric for hats because it’s easy to clean & not too pricey. While the fabric choice helps maintain the hat’s lifespan it also makes it easy to pack in a suitcase without worrying about damage.

My Tip: Shove a few pairs of socks or a scarf inside the brim & you can trust your hat will look the same when you reach your destination as it did when you 1st put it in your suitcase.

My love of Topshop jeans will probably be a lifelong affair. I just can’t get over how comfortable they are. I promise you there is a pair for every body type and because most are stretchy they really maintain their shape. I am a big fan of distressed everything, especially jeans and this destroyed high-rise pair is a new favorite. There are a lot of really wonderful jeans similar to these here.

Booties Booties Booties! If you don’t have multiple pairs by now then you’re really missing out. There are tons of fabulous options out there but Dolce Vita suede booties are one of my favorites. I basically lived in this black pair or my converse while in Canada. Check out their fall line at Nordstrom here.
